Panama City Marina
Monday April 4, 2013

We returned from Sarasota Saturday evening after a 7&1/2 hr drive. We had a good time there spending some time and having dinner with friends and fellow boaters Berwick, Alexis and another couple from Houma,  La.
We spent Friday with friends of mine who live in Sarasota, we have been friends since we were in grade school in Puerto Rico many years ago. We cooked a Paella and had a great day together.
On Sunday there was a Civil War Reenactment of a Union assault on a salt works near the marina
below are a few pictures taken  over the weekend.
We plan to leave here Tuesday morning and will start daily posts to the blog again.

Kettles used to boil seawater for salt a basic necessity in the Civil War since it was
used for preserving food and had other important uses.
The one on the left is similar to the Sugar Kettles seen in Louisiana where they were used to boil sugar cane juice to make sugar
