Gulf Crossing Apalachicola to Tarpon Springs

We left Apalachicola as planned at 2:30 pm we crossed Apalachicola bay and out to the Gulf through Government Cut just South of Apalachicola. Apalachicola Bay was quite choppy as was the Gulf for the first few hours but around sunset it calmed down a good bit and made for a good crossing. Skies were clear and we had a 3/4 full moon which gave  pretty good visiblity.
Left Apalchicola at 2:30PM  Wed.
Arrived Tarpon Springs City Marina at 12:30 PM Thurs.
Travel time 22 hours
Distance traveled 173 St miles

This abandoned dragline and barge sre slowly falling apart in the marsh across Scipio Creek from the marina.

Government cut connects Apalachiola Bay to the Gulf of Mexico
It is about 14 feet deep.

Gov't Cut jetty and beachfont summer homes facing the Gulf

Sunset out on the gulf

Crab trap floats, these drive boaters crazy! There are thousands all along the coast. They have a way of jumping out in front of boats and getting caught in the propellers, calling for an expensive visit from a diver to cut the mess free. many are white others in colors, but why paint them blue??? Makes them
  very hard to see.
