The winds were down to 15 mph today so we got on the move again. We left Legacy harbor about 8:30 am and went over to the Ft Myers Municipal Yacht Harbor where they sell fuel, including diesel, we filled the tanks which took about 133 gallons @ $3.87 including tax. We have travelled 412 miles sinc the last fill up in Apalachicola so it works out to about 3.10 miles per gallon which is quite good for a boat. While we were at the fuel dock another boater came by, he owns a Monk 36 like Gumbo, his is a 2007 while Gumbo is 2003. He was also heading North this morning, going to Punta Gorda which is between Ft Myers and Venice, FL. So we travelled together till he turned of for home, he owns a condo with a slip in Punta Gorda. We continued towards Englewood Beach there was lots of boat traffic today! As we entered Lemon Bay I got a bit off the channel and bumped bottom it looked like we were going to be well grounded but luckily I was able to power us off with help from the bow thruster. Probably was a punishment for me, a couple of hours earlier I was laughing at a guy who had run his large cruiser aground on a small island near the Intracoastal Waterway south of Ft Myers the name of his boat was "Sitting Duck" As he was on the radio warning boaters of his situation he sounded embarrased to say the name of his boat considering his predicament "This is the Sitting Duck, aground near Paradise Island, please be careful of the dinghy assisting us" and so on. We arrived at Chadwick Cove marina, Englewood Beach and were tied up at the dock at 5:15. Dinner at a nearby restaurant.
