We headed across the Chocktawhatchee Bay for close to three hours then we entered an area called the Grand Canyon. It is a man made cut and the sides are eroding which causes the soil layers to show, looking kind of like the Grand Canyon. Another couple of hours through there and we exited west of Panama City Fl Panama City Harbor is a busy place with commercial, military and recreational traffic.
Just West of the city is a huge pulp mill they bring in trailer loads of pine logs. There is a huge rotating crane which handles to loads as if they were matchsticks placing them onto a conveyor into the plant they emerge as pulp which is loaded onto ships. Not far from the factory we turned into Pearl Bayou where we anchored for the night ther are a couple of other boats in here with us.
Leaving BlueWater bay Marina, the water like glass
A Red navigational marker on the ICW, these are always on the land side of the waterway
Greens are on the sea side the birds love them they make a good perch to watch for fish.
Part of the "Grand Canyon"
